Talking with a fictional AI companion can feel casual and personal. The privacy stakes are still real: anything you send must be processed to provide the service. A useful boundary is to share enough context for a good conversation without treating the chat like a vault for your most sensitive information.

Start with low-stakes context

Preferences such as a favorite movie genre, a broad hobby, or the kind of encouragement you enjoy can make a conversation more personal without identifying you. Exact identifiers are different. Before sharing a detail, ask whether the conversation would still work with a less specific version.

• Never share passwords, one-time authentication codes, or account recovery answers.
• Keep payment card numbers, bank details, government ID numbers, and tax identifiers out of chat.
• Avoid your precise live location, private access instructions, or information that could expose where you or someone else can be found.
• Do not paste confidential workplace material, private records, or information you do not have permission to share.
• Do not use any companion service to request or exchange illegal content.

Think before sharing someone else's story

A conversation about your own feelings can easily include another person's name, health, finances, or private situation. Remove identifying details when you can. Their information deserves the same care you would want for yours, even when they are not part of the conversation.

Decide what should be remembered

A detail does not need to be highly sensitive to feel uncomfortable later, so pause before turning a passing thought into lasting context.

Use product controls, but keep your own boundary

Read the privacy policy, content policy, and trust and safety page before joining any service. When Nexani opens, use its reporting, data, memory, and account controls as they become available. Product safeguards matter, but the simplest protection is still choosing not to send a secret in the first place.

Keep an emotional boundary too

A Nexani companion is a simulated character, not a person or a substitute for medical, legal, financial, or crisis support. For urgent safety concerns, contact local emergency services or a trusted person who can help in the real world.
